Academic Cooperation signed with Lulea University of Technology, Sweden
Lulea University of Technology (LTU) in Sweden has joined AIT's roster of partner universities, following the signing of an MoU on 19 January by Prof. Mikael Jonsson (right), Vice-Dean, LTU Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Jean- Louis Armand, AIT President, focussing on a joint interdisciplinary program in sustainable hydro-energy resources development. The MoU covers the period January 2000 to December 2002 and includes student theses supervision, faculty exchange and joint training, study and research activities.
Under the joint program, AIT will provide instruction and certification of courses in two fields of study, namely Electric Power Systems Management and Integrated Water Resources Management, as well as other fields taken by LTU students at AIT. LTU, through its Faculty of Engineering, will conduct courses and theses supervision for AIT students in the sustainable hydro-energy resources development program at LTU.
The joint program will be part of a joint project proposal to be submitted for funding to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and other sponsoring organizations.
