499 graduates from 30 countries graduate from AIT

Four-hundred and ninety-nine graduates coming from 30 countries across four continents graduated at the 119th Graduation of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 23 May 2013. AIT’s internationality was very much at display when student representatives from different countries dressed in their traditional gear participated in the Graduation to make it a truly commemorative event.

HM King’s, HM Queen’s and Loom Nam Khong Pijai Scholarships announced at AIT

His Majesty The King’s, Her Majesty The Queen’s and Loom Nam Khong Pijai Scholarships have been announced for Master’s degree studies at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). The scholarships were announced following a meeting of the AIT Acting President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai with the Secretary-General of the Office of Higher Education Commission (CHE), Mr. Apichart Jeerawuth, Thailand on 23 April 2013.

Acting President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai spoke directly to faculty and staff, elaborating on a number of specific challenges facing the Institute as well as many positive new developments.

73 students to arrive from JNTUK to AIT in August 2014

Seventy-three students will arrive from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK), Andhra Pradesh, India to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in August 2014 to pursue a Master’s degree under the expanding Unified Program. This follows the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Social Awareness, Health and Education (SHE) Foundation, India and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

Prof. Sivanappan Kumar and Prof. Kanchana Kanchanasut appointed Acting Vice Presidents

Two esteemed AIT faculty members have been appointed by the AIT Board of Trustees to serve as vice presidents of the Asian Institute of Technology. Professor Sivanappan Kumar was appointed Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Professor Kanchana Kanchanasut was made Acting Vice President for Research (VPR), as endorsed by the Board at its meeting on 22 April 2013.
