AIT is an undisputed pioneer in the field of education: Bhutan Minister

Minister of Labor and Human Resources, Government of Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Dorji Wangdi described the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) as a “great seat of learning,” and an “undisputed pioneer in the field of education.” He made these remarks on the occasion of the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIT and the Royal Institute of Management (RIM) on 8 October 2012.

DIKTI seeks strengthened relations with AIT

A delegation from Directorate General of Higher Education of Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (DIKTI) expressed their intention to strengthen relations with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and promote it as a center of engineering excellence to candidate lecturers in Indonesia. The visitors also stated that they are interested in sending more scholars, researchers and teachers for dual-degree, sandwich programs and postgraduate programs.

GUBS, China explores academic collaboration

A delegation from Guangdong University of Business Studies (GUBS), People’s Republic of China visited the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 24 September 2012 to explore possible academic collaboration. Led by its Vice President, Prof. Yong Heming, the delegation revealed that their finance and business degree programs are ranked among the top five in Guangdong province.

AIT faculty leads session on “Youth Forum on Green Economy”

Forty youngsters from 15 countries were trained in the concept and methodology of water-energy-carbon interface during the event ‘Asia Pacific Graduates Youth Forum on Green Economy’ being organized at Kathmandu, Nepal. Dr. Sangam Shrestha of Water Engineering and Management (WEM) field of study, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), Asian Institute of Technology led the session on ‘Quantifying water, energy and carbon nexus’.

Toyo University seeks partnership with AIT

Toyo University, Japan has sought collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). A delegation from Toyo University led by its Vice President, Prof. Hidetoshi Kitawaki, Vice President met the AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust on 20 September 2012 and expressed their intention to engage in a permanent collaboration.
