MoA signed with Beijing Normal University

June 29, 2021 – A Memorandum of Agreement between Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was signed today to establish “The Joint AIT-BNU Belt and Road Center”. This Center will be jointly operated and managed by the AIT Belt and Road Research Center and the Belt and Road School of BNU under the governance of its Board of Directors.

June 25, 2021 -- The largest symposium hosted by AIT drew a big crowd to discuss disaster risk reduction, biological disaster included, and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific Region.

The International Symposium on Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development (DRSD) was held for the second time at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on June 24 – 25, 2021, with 21 international collaborators, 15 keynote speakers, and 337 participants from 29 countries.

Since January of 2020, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has spread across the world.  The situation in Thailand was very stable starting last summer--with a minor outbreak in December-- all the way through the early part of 2021.  Unfortunately, a fierce wave has hit Thailand in April, but we are hopeful that things will improve soon.

The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration begins on World Environment Day 2021 with the theme of ‘Reimagine – Recreate – Restore,' launched virtually from AIT Entrepreneurship Center.

World Environment Day (WED) has been celebrated annually on June 5th since 1974. It is a global platform to promote awareness and action for the environment by inspiring positive changes.
