President of Télécoms Sans Frontière, Mr. Jean-François Cazanave assured the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) of support, and sought stronger ties with the Institute. In a visit to AIT on 16 May 2012, Mr. Cazanave said TSF was very happy with the partnership with AIT, and was keen to continue its engagement.

Tucked into a nondescript presentation room at the library building, a small group of Southeast Asian students hone their presentation skills. One-by-one they take to the classroom floor to convince their classmates about some tough, technical socio-environmental issues challenging the Lower Mekong River Basin.

Describing the Social Business Symposium as a good effort by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Nobel laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus stated that all beautiful ideas need to be translated into action, and that the Symposium was a very good beginning.

Governor of Thailand’s province of Nakornnayok, Dr. Surachai Srisarakham sought AIT’s help and support for transforming Nakornnayok into a “smart province,” and welcomed AIT’s presence by offering 100 rai of land to AIT free of cost.

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is interested in strengthening its commitment with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), particularly after its announcement of new policy directions of promoting research in academic institutions and building human resources. Stating this, Mr. Hiroyuki Konuma, Assistant Director General and Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, remarked that AIT has a history of collaboration with FAO, and both should explore ways of greater engagement.
