AIT International School is 80 percent
completed
It was announced on April 17 that the rehabilitation of the AIT
International School is on schedule with 80% of all work now completed.
Officials are confident of meeting the April 23rd deadline for full
completion of the project.
A maiden visit to AIT by two senior representatives of École Polythechnique de Montréal may spawn joint-research and collaboration possibilities, as well as overseas internship opportunities for AIT students at the Canadian university.
Clausthal University of Technology (TU Clausthal), Germany has sought a partnership with the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) with an emphasis on student exchange programs. This was stated by Prof. Volker Wesling, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer, TU Chausthal, during a visit to AIT on 3 April 2012.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has launched a dual doctoral degree program with the Graduate University for Japan Studies (Sokendai). The dual doctoral degree program, which is the first for both AIT and Sokendai, is slated to admit students in the August semester.

To mark International Women’s Day 2012, a student essay competition organized by the AIT Student Union culminated with an awards ceremony on March 29 at Korea House. Three AIT students who caught the eye of the judges for their essays on the theme of “Equality for Women in Education and Employment†were awarded certificates of achievement.
A book titled “Kathmandu Valley Groundwater Outlook†edited by Dr. Sangam Shrestha, a faculty member of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), was launched during the ‘Nepal National Water Week 2012’ celebrations.
At an open information forum conducted by President Said Irandoust on 21 March 2012 at the Milton Bender Auditorium, AIT students got first-hand information about all ongoing efforts to rebuild and upgrade the campus.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, H. E. Mr. Lutfi Rauf has complimented the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) describing it as a “center of excellence†in many fields, particularly in science and technology.
