University of Tokyo evinces interest in AIT

The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE), University of Tokyo has evinced deep interest in the activities of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). A delegation of OICE of the School of Engineering, University of Tokyo led by its Director, Prof. Koichi Maekawa expressed their keen desire to learn about AIT’s best practices as an international academic institute.

Environmental education of special interest to DPR Korea

Environmental education is of special interest to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPR Korea) and the Environment Education and Awareness (EEA) is one of the focus areas of the DPR Korea Trust Fund project. This was stated by Mr. Han Kyu Sam, Director, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education of DPR Korea during his visit to the Asian Institute of Technology.

President calls for gender equity and equality

The week long International Women’s Day celebrations at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) got off to a start with the Institute President Said Irandoust felicitating everyone on the occasion. Addressing participants prior to a rally organized to kickoff the celebrations, the President called for equity and equality stating that the gender perspective has been integrated into all of AIT’s actions to ensure adherence to the fundamental principles of humanity and impartiality.

By 2020, half of ADB’s work will be in PPP mode : Dr Lohani

By the year 2020, 50 per cent of the work done by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) shall be with the private sector. This is because the public sector will be unable to undertake all the tasks on its own. This was stated by Dr. Bindu N. Lohani, ADB Vice President (Finance and Administration) while delivering a talk on “Asia 2020: ADB’s Strategic Agenda and its People Strategy.”
