AIT Outreach Council elects Mechai Viravaidya as Chairperson

The newly constituted Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Outreach Council has unanimously elected Mr. Mechai Viravaidya, Chairperson of the Population and Community Development Association (PDA) as Chairperson of the council. Ms. Helena Ahola, Head of Development Co-operation, Embassy of Finland to Thailand has been elected Co- Chairperson, while Dr. Theo Ebbers, Coordinator, Wetlands Alliance Programme has been elected the Council Secretary.

AIT outsources IT services to Netlink

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed a contract with Netlink Software Private Limited for outsourcing of IT related services, a move which would entail a saving of 14.48 million Baht. The contract was signed by the AIT President Said Irandoust and President of Netlink, Anurag Shrivastava.

Indian ambassador advocates PPP model

Ambassador of the Republic of India to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty supported the concept of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in education stating that PPP model has been discussed threadbare in India. “There is no further debate on PPP and there is no escape from this model,” H.E. remarked during his maiden visit to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

The Erasmus Mundus mobility program offers a tremendous opportunity for students of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and other partner institutions to study abroad. The “Bridging the Gap” program under the Eramus Mundus External Cooperation Window (EMECW) offers an enhanced mobility scheme for students, researchers and academic staff which is aimed at promoting sustainable development and cooperation in Higher Education.
