AIT signs agreements with three companies for RTG-funded Joint Research Projects

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed agreements with three companies – Advanced Agro Public Company Limited, D.A. Research Center Company Limited, and Likitomi (Thailand) Company Limited to launch joint research projects under the Royal Thai Government (RTG) funding program. AIT faculty members and researchers from these companies will jointly participate in the respective projects.

70 per cent of World’s irrigated land is in Asia: expert

With 70 per cent of the world’s irrigated land lying in Asia, environmental water stress is very closely correlated to irrigation practices in the region. Demography, diet and diversification are the three major drivers influencing irrigation practices in Asia. This was stated by Mr. Thierry Facon, Senior Water Management Officer of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) while delivering the keynote address at the Regional R&D Workshop on “Water saving irrigation practices in rice-based canal systems”, which is being jointly organized by the University of Copenhagen (KU and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) at the AIT Conference Center.

Sri Lanka evinces interest in AIT programs

Three students from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) are among the volunteers helping Telecoms Sans Frontières (TSF) in providing communications in the disaster hit areas in South East Asia. The three are already in Philippines and Samoa to help install, and operate communications equipment following the disasters.
