AIT hosts IAEC-2007

The Asian Association for Agricultural Engineering (AAAE) organized a four-day International Agricultural Engineering Conference (IAEC), the ninth in its series, at the AIT Conference Center during 3-6 December. This biennial event, convened by Professor V. M. Salokhe, was attended by nearly 120 participants, representing over 20 countries.

Alumnus’ research paper receives Special Commendation of the 2007 Emerald / EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award

Congratulations to AIT alumnus from School of Management (SOM), Dr. Phallapa Petison, whose recent research paper was chosen by the Editor(s) of the Management Decision and their judging panel as worthy of a Special Commendation of the 2007 Emerald / EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award in the category of Management and Governance.

AIT to organize a workshop on teaching and learning

Professor Peter Haddawy, Vice President for Academic Affairs is working on organizing a workshop on teaching and learning which will be held at AIT on 5 and 6 April 2008, under the umbrella of ASAIHL. The workshop will be led by Dr. Lynne Hunt, who is a Board Member of the Carrick Institute for Teaching and Learning in Australia, and who is a recipient of the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

AIT-AITAA Collaborative Workshop: For Homecoming 2009

The AIT-AITAA Collaborative Workshop for Homecoming 2009 was held on 7 December 2007. This event was organized jointly by the Golden Jubilee Fundraising Campaign and the AITAA Mother Chapter. AIT President Said Irandoust along with General Dr. Boonsrang Niumpradit, President of the AITAA Alumni Association Mother Chapter; Dr. Chainarong Na-Lamphun, former President of AITAA, President's of the National Chapters, GJFC Internal Steering Committee members, and other alumni representatives attended the workshop.

Landmark “Doing Business in Africa” Workshop for AIT and Thailand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

As part of its new Asia-Africa Initiative, from 3-4 December 2007, AIT organized a workshop on the topic “Doing Business in Africa” in Bangkok, which was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Thailand. Senior officials from the Ministry and other related government agencies in Thailand, ambassadors from several of the African nations, leaders of international organizations such as the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) and the African Development Bank, academia, leaders from industry and finance discussed how business relations could be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of Africa and Thailand.
