Donation Converts “CREATOR SPACE” in AIT Entrepreneurship Center to Smart Modified Classroom

A group of Sri Lankan AIT Alumni in Australia has generously donated AUD 6,818 towards the upgrading of the CREATOR SPACE facility at the AIT Entrepreneurship Center (EC) into a Smart Modified Classroom (SMC).

This enhancement of the  CREATOR SPACE  into an SMC will equip the facility with the latest technology allowing the EC to conduct all its events in the hybrid mode, including its flagship  Distinguished Entrepreneur Talk Series and other mentorship workshops like Experts Talk, which can be attended by both on-campus and online audiences.

Students honored at the Virtual Kurita Scholarship Award Ceremony

Recipients of the Kurita Scholarship 2020 Award were honored at a virtual award ceremony organized on 26 August 2020. Mr. Toshiyuki Nakai, President of the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) and Dr. Eden Y. Woon, President of the Asian Institute of Technology handed over award certificates (virtually) to Ms. Huong Thi Thu Nguyen of Vietnam and Mr. Roshan Bhandari and Ms. Nyalima Khanal of Nepal.

Thailand’s National Housing Authority and AIT enter partnership for Technical Cooperation on Building and Housing Technologies

AIT and Thailand’s National Housing Authority (NHA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on 20 August 2020 to address the country’s need for affordable housing. The agreement represents a commitment on the part of both organizations to collaborate on capacity building and innovation to develop low-cost, energy-efficient, eco-friendly housing solutions, emphasizing efficiency, quality and conformance to global standards.

AIT Receives Support from Dr. Anat Arbhabhirama towards Master’s Degree Scholarship

 

Dr. Anat Arbhabhirama (WRE’62), AIT alumnus, from Water Resources Engineering, signed an agreement with Dr. Eden Woon, AIT President on 30 July 2020, at Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited, granting a scholarship in an amount of 464,000 Thai Baht towards a 24 credits tuition and the registration fees for a master’s student of any nationality enrolled in Water Engineering and Management (WEM), School of Engineering & Technology for August 2020 intake.

Since January of this year, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has spread across the world. By the end of July, the situation is very good in Thailand—with no case of local transmission for over two months, but there are places around the world, including several of the countries where our AIT students, faculty, and staff come from, which are still heavily affected.
