Dr. Sugimin Pranoto, Interim Director of our AIT Center in Indonesia (AITCI), visited AIT from 1 - 4 August to finalize the internal agreement between AITCI and the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) for the AIT-UGM (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia) dual degree program in Transportation Systems Engineering.

The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) welcomes Dr. Wataru Takeuchi, who joined AIT recently.

Dr. Takeuchi has joined SET's Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Field of Study, from 1 August 2007 to 31 July 2009, as a visiting faculty member, seconded by the International Center for Urban Safety Engineering (ICUS), Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan.

H.E. Mr. Toshiei Mizuochi, Vice Minister, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Japan, on 3 August 2007, visited AIT along with senior officials from MEXT, the Director of the JAXA Office in Bangkok, and officials from the Japanese Embassy to Thailand.

H.E. Mr. Sawanit Kongsiri, Thailand's Deputy Foreign Minister, and AIT trustee H.E. Ms. Vijaya Latha Reddy, Ambassador of India to Thailand, on 3 August 2007, hosted a reception to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Thailand-India, at Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dean of SET and faculty receive recognition

Dean of SET and faculty receive recognition
Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, was invited by the Academic Affairs Division, Thammasat University, to be part of the academic quality assurance evaluation auditing team, which will undertake the annual internal audit of the College of Innovative Education on 16 August 2007. This is an important recognition of Professor Worsak's standing in his field and provides a good opportunity wherein AIT can partner and contribute to Thammasat University in this important exercise.
