A company owned by an AIT alumnus selected as 'Best Employers in Asia 2007'

Congratulations to Mr. Sudhanshu Singh, an AIT alumnus from SOM (2006) whose organization Satyam Computer Services Limited, India, was selected by Hewitt Associates and its partners as being among the 'Best Employers in Asia 2007' at an Award Event in Shanghai, PRC, on 19 April 2007. The results were published in The Wall Street Journal Asia on 20 April 2007.

Realizing the importance of research and development in automotive electronics technology, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) agreed to establish collaboration for development of new technologies and prepare human resources in this field so that the research can be further developed for commercial purpose.

AIT in partnership with Chalmers University, Sweden is currently developing a proposal for collaboration in the area of geo-engineering (which could also be expanded to water engineering). Many of the geotechnical and foundation problems encountered in the lowlands in Southeast Asia are similar to those dealt with in Sweden, due in part to similar geological conditions.

‘C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ selects Waste Concern in Bangladesh as case study
‘Waste Concern’, a pioneering CDM-based compost project in Bangladesh headed by two AIT alumni Mr. Maqsood Sinha and Mr. Iftekhar Enayetullah, has been selected as a case study for the `C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ to be held 14-17 May 2007 in New York City, USA. Waste Concern was established by Mr. Sinha after graduating from AIT in 1993. Over the years the organization has received numerous international awards including the one by Mr. Kofi Anan on behalf of UNDP. The second `C40 Large Cities Climate Summit’ will gather leaders of municipal governments and international businesses from over thirty world cities in New York City.
