The ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Knowledge Hub’ project team, known as 3RKH and comprising ADB, UNEP, UNESCAP, and AIT, recently held a logo competition and short-listed the top three logos from among 50 entries. The top three were on display at AIT for the community’s comments.

The 6 th Research Meeting of the Sustainable Water Management Policy (SWMP) project, co-organized by the Water Engineering and Management (WEM) field of study, School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and Institute for Global
Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan, took place at AIT on 19 and 20 March 2007. The meeting was attended by 40 participants including research partners, policy makers and other stakeholders from seven countries: China, Indonesia,
Japan, Korea , Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand.

AIT joins hands with US Embassy in screening of movie and discussion on "Global Warming"

On 22 March 2007, AIT in collaboration with the US Embassy held an event to focus on the issue of global warming, including a showing of the film "An Inconvenient Truth". The film was followed by an open forum discussion,
featuring a panel consisting of Mr. James Waller, Regional Environmental and Health Officer at the US Embassy in Bangkok, and Professor Ram Shrestha of AIT's energy program.

An article by Dr. Nitin Tripathi on the topic "Digital Mapping Shows the Way Forward" has been featured in the Science and Development Network website. The article tells about AIT and the project conducted by Dr. Tripathi on mapping and tracking fatal strains of the bird flu virus, as well as identifying risk zones and the trajectory of any potential outbreak.

For the year 2006, AIT spent 41.1 million baht on energy, compared to 36.8 million baht in 2004 and 38.56 million baht in 2005. This amount covered consumption across the entire campus, including the academic and administrative buildings, faculty and staff housing, student accommodations, and auxiliary services.
