An AIT promotional article on the AIT Career Center was published in T-AB Thai American Business Journal, a journal of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, Vol. 1/2007.The article entitled "Reaching a Diverse Pool of Professionals from 79 countries" tells the readers about AIT's educational programs and informs companies as to how they can use the services of the AIT Career Center to recruit their employees from the pool of AIT graduates, who are highly-trained professionals with English language skills.

On Saturday, 24 March 2007, three partnership agreements - an MoA, MoU and Agreement of Cooperation between AIT and the Research and Consulting Company of Shakhes-Sazan (RCCSS), Esfahan, Iran, were signed by AIT President Said Irandoust, and Dr. Amir Mahmoodsadeh, Managing Director, RCCSS.According to the MoA, AIT will launch professional doctorate programs in Iran, for which RCCSS will provide AIT with a sum of US$28,000 per student for joining the programs.

Numerous comments have been made regarding smoking on campus. The AIT policy is that smoking is prohibited in all the administrative and academic buildings, as well as in public areas on campus. Members of the community are requested to kindly adhere to that policy.

Prof. Sudip Rakshit, Vice President for Research, has asked the AIT Community to prepare for the Y. K. Shinghania Thesis Competition to be held among the AIT graduating students in May 2007. The competition, initiated last year, comprises a series of seven (7) competitions in school-wise groupings of related fields of study as follows:

Two teams from AIT’s Mechatronics Field of Study, School of Engineering and Technology (SET) won 1st and 2nd rank in the preliminary round of the inaugural Thailand Intelligent Vehicle Challenge, Thailand Championship, organized on 21 March 2007 at Bangkok Racing Circuit.

AIT President Said Irandoust is pleased to announce that AIT received the latest version of the draft AIT Charter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand on 14 March 2007. Consultation among members of the Executive Committee on this latest version has resulted in general agreement on all of the issues and the final version will soon be finalized and submitted to the Board of Trustees for their consideration at their 28 March 2007 meeting.

The possibility has arisen for AIT and UNITAR jointly to implement a vocational technical education and teacher training program financed by the British Petroleum (BP). The project would be part of BP's Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy, an active and a major industrial partner in Azerbaijan.

Environmental Director of Volvo Sweden visits AIT regarding S9

Dr. Edward Jobson, Environmental Director for Volvo, Sweden visited AIT 12-13 March 2007 and held further discussions with AIT administration on organization of the international conference entitled 'Spiritual Transformation for Sustainable Development: A Forum for Common Ethical Values of World Religions' ('S9' for short). The S9 event is scheduled to take place at AIT in 2008.
