AIT joins ‘Services Science Collaboration Program’
On 1 February, Prof. Said Irandoust, AIT President, attended the MoU signing ceremony on the establishment of a "Services Science Collaboration Program" held at the Government House. The program is part of the Government of Thailand and IBM Thailand initiative to further develop and strengthen the service science discipline and manpower in the country.

The Board of Trustees of the ASEAN Foundation has recently approved the project proposed by AIT entitled "Capacity Building in Poverty Mapping in the ASEAN Member Countries" in the amount of US$ 367,489, under the auspices of the project proposals initiated by the Government of Japan.

Background

The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Environment Operations
Center (EOC) accepts applications from graduate or newly graduate students
from the GMS countries (Cambodia, People's Republic of China, Lao People's
Democratic Republic, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam) who would like to join the center for a 3- to 6-month internship.

The first activity will be recruitment of 'Student Ambassadors' for AIT which will be exercised each semester.

AIT online admission on the right track

AIT's online application admission system is on the right track recording with more than 150 applications received for the August 2007 intake.

The online admission application process initiated in November 2006 provides the possibility for online payment of application fee through credit card, the ability to check on the status of the application, submission of recommendations by the referees, instant e-mail acknowledgement, as well as flexibility in filling the application forms in several sessions by retrieving the unfinished entry.

Scholarship opportunities for Myanmar students

Partial scholarship opportunities for 2007 are now offered by the Open Society Institute and Prospect Burma for students from Myanmar. The scholarships will be given to students in many fields and usually to those who have already been provided partial scholarships by other sources.
