The Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (RS&GIS;) field of study, School of Engineering and Technology, recently learned that many AITians are still using its old contact e-mail address and are still browsing the old RS&GIS; homepage.

The United Nations University’s International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST) and AIT are joining hands to address a growing need for open source software developers in the Asia-Pacific region.

AIT set to become a United Nations University associated institute

The United Nation University (UNU) council at its 53rd council meeting held in Tokyo recently approved AIT as a UNU Associated Institution. To this effect AIT and UNU will work closely on the following issues:

Urban Futures and Mega Cities, which will include guidelines for planning future urban areas and ensuring a pleasant and secure urban environment as well as managing present day mega cities.

Prof. Johri to coordinate AIT Consultancy task force

Prof. Johri to coordinate AIT Consultancy task force

With enthusiastic response from students, staff and faculty on setting up an AIT consultancy service, a meeting was held on 22 November 2006.

At the meeing, it was decided that Prof. Lalit Johri will coordinate the task force which will produce a document to be used to formalize and get this going.
