AIT bids farewell to H.E. Mr. Katju
Professor Said Irandoust, AIT President hosted a farewell lunch in honour of H.E. Mr. Vivek Katju, Ambassador of India and a member of the AIT Board of Trustees on Wednesday, 13 September 2006. The event was also attended by members of the Indian faculty.

Two new initiatives approved by the SOM Board members at its first meeting

On 8 September 2006, the first Board Meeting of School of Management (SOM) was held at AIT. The meeting was opened by Prof. Indra M. Pandey, Dean of SOM, who welcomed all the members of the Board.

Oregon State University, AIT sign agreement
AIT and Oregon State University (OSU) entered into a mutual cooperation in teaching and research in the following areas: exchange of faculty; joint research, technical assistance and development activities; participation in seminars and academic meetings; exchange of academic materials and other information; special short-term academic programs; and student exchange for research and study.

De La Salle University administrators and students visit

On 1 September 2006, 19 students from Political Science or Development Studies, De La Salle University - Manila, Philippines, accompanied by Mr. Allen B. Surla (above, second from right), vice chairman, Political Science Department, visited AIT.

The visit was part of an educational tour to Thailand for the students whose major interest was to scout graduate schools in the region to further their studies.

Student Union executive members elected

At the second General Assembly meeting of AIT Student Union held on 11 September 2006, the following students were elected as SU Executive members:

AIT Prominent Alumni Lecture Series - The AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) and Alumni Relations Unit (ARU) will organize a Prominent Alumni Lecture Series in which an alumna of AIT will deliver a lecture on his/her expertise on 31 October 2006.

AITAA 35th Governing Board Meeting - AITAA Mother Chapter and AITAA Lao P.D.R. Chapter will jointly organize the 35th Governing Board Meeting (GBM) on 9-11 December 2006 in Vientiane, Lao.
