AIT Prominent Alumni Lecture Series - The AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) and Alumni Relations Unit (ARU) will organize a Prominent Alumni Lecture Series in which an alumna of AIT will deliver a lecture on his/her expertise on 31 October 2006.

AITAA 35th Governing Board Meeting - AITAA Mother Chapter and AITAA Lao P.D.R. Chapter will jointly organize the 35th Governing Board Meeting (GBM) on 9-11 December 2006 in Vientiane, Lao.

SU election results reported

The Election Committee of AIT's Student Union announced the result of the general election held on 7 September 2006 for the position of vice president for the August 2006 semester. The election came out that Mr. R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayake (Udaya) from Sri Lanka was elected with 277 votes.

Malaysia delegation explores collaboration

A delegation from Universiti Tecknologi Malaysia (UTM) visited AIT on 29 August 2006. The purpose of the visit was to learn more about AIT and to seek opportunities for collaboration with AIT in student/faculty exchanges, joint research projects and faculty and staff development through both degree programs and AIT Extension.

The University Support to Environmental Planning and Management project (USEPAM – http://www.usepam.ait.ac.th)
at Regional and Rural Development Program, School of Environment, Resources and Development will organize a regional conference on 'Environmental Planning and Management in Southeast Asian Countries' in Hanoi, Vietnam, during 6-8 March 2007.

The specific objectives of the conference are: 1) to facilitate the exchange of experiences gained in and lessons learned from regionally coordinated capacity building projects implemented for strengthening multidisciplinary curricula, outreach activities and applied research capacity in the area of environmental planning and management amongst academicians, policymakers, planners and international development agencies in the region who are carrying out same or similar projects; 2) to provide a forum to researchers as well as planners and policymakers for presenting results of and methodological experiences in research projects; for sharing lessons learned through implementation of environmental management policies; for discussing the policy implications of the findings of the research projects; and for seeking policy oriented research issues.

McGraw-Hill Engineering Online: Digital Engineering Library is now available at the AIT Library as a trial database until 6 October 2006.

The Digital Engineering Library provides online access to more than 4,000 engineering articles from McGraw-Hill publications.
