Vietnamese delegation meets with SOM

On 7 July 2006 , a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City Investment Fund for Urban Development and Saigon-Tay Bac Joint Stock Company visited AIT. The delegation met and had a fruitful discussion with A IT President Said Irandoust in the morning and later spent time at the School of Management to discuss future collaboration and meet with Vietnamese students.

AIT and the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Indonesia entered into an agreement on 1 July for establish collaborative relations.

AIT President Said Irandoust and ITS Rector Ir. Mohammad Nuh Dea signed the memorandum of understanding that promotes exchange of information, joint research, international seminars, exchanges of staff faculty and students and other cooperation seen as mutually beneficial.

Dr. Der-Guey Lin, a former faculty in the former Geotechnical Engineering and Transportation Division, AIT, and currently an Associate Professor, Department of Soil and Water Conservation, National Chung-Hsing University, recently informed AIT that the Bureau of International Cultural and Education Relation is likely to second one faculty member for the coming September 2006 (or January 2007), based on AIT's Proposals to Ministry of Education, Government of Taiwan.

AIT to help support NUOL's development of administrative capacity and management skills

Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) council on 14 June 2006 approved the allocation of 8.5 million Swedish Krona (SEK) for the extension of the current agreement on bilateral research collaboration between Sida and the National University of Laos (NUOL). The agreement which ended 30 June 2006 will be extended to 31 March 2007.

The support for research cooperation was initiated in 2003 with a focus on training of lecturers.
