The Southeast Asia Urban Environmental Management Applications Project (SEA-UEMA), 2003 – 2008, is a partnership program between the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and AIT.

The goal of the project is to contribute to the improvement of urban environmental conditions in Southeast Asia through improved implementation of urban environmental management policies and innovative local solutions of the urban environmental problems in the three key UEM sub-sectors of: i) water and sanitation ii) solid waste and iii) air pollution and thereby improve the local environmental conditions with particular attention to the poor and women.

On 25 May 2006, Prof. Peter Haddawy and Dr. Ranamukhaarachchi, an associate professor at the School of Environment, Resources and Development, Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, AIT Alumni Relations coordinator and Ms. Hnin Aye Lwin, program officer, External Relations and Communications Office, met with Dr. David Hannaway, Department of Crop & Soil Sciences, Oregon State University, Corvallis, U.S.A. and Mr. Alan S. Cooper, an Oregon State adjunct faculty member from ANE-Asia Associates LLC, Hua Hin, Thailand.

Vietnamese delegation gains familiarity with AIT

A delegation from Vietnam's Dong Nai's People's Committee visited AIT 23-25 May 2006. The visit may result in as many as six or seven scholarships in the upcoming semester. The purpose of the visit was to see AIT's academic offerings, campus and research facilities since the committee would like to send candidates to study at AIT in August intake to meet the needs of human resources development and institutional capacity building.

A new publications section contains all recent and past SU publications including the BATCH graduation book, SU Digest and New Student Welcome Flyers.

Abandoned car will be towed

Abandoned car will be towed

The Safety, Security and Sports Unit calls the attention of the owner of a car abandoned at the Chalerm Prakiet Building parking lot:

It is a light blue Isuzu with the registration number: Lor Ror-8526.

SSSU will have the car towed if the owner failed to move it until the end of this month.
