Summer internship available at UNESCAP

AIT graduating students are welcomed to join the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) internship program.

A Web programmer internship is available for graduating students who wish to gain practical work experience by actually working with UNESCAP as a volunteer for a few months before graduating.

ERCO this week: Maldives minister visits campus

On 10 May 2006, H. E. Ahmed Abdullah, Minister, Ministry of Environment, Energy & Water, Maldives visited AIT accompanied by Mr. Moosa, director general, Ministry of Water, Energy & Environment. The minister was on an official visit held with Mr. Surendra Shrestha, regional director of the Asia and the Pacific region for the United Nations Environmental Program, and expressed his interest to visit AIT.

H. E. Ahmed Abdullah was welcomed by the vice president for academic affairs, the dean of the School of Environment, Resources and Development, the associate dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, representative of AIT Extension and faculty members.

SET welcomes new faculty member

Computer Science and Information Management, School of Engineering and Technology, welcomes its newest faculty member, Dr. Matthew N. Dailey, who joined the school in April 2006 as an assistant professor.

Dr. Dailey earned his B.S. (1992) and M.S. (1995) in Computer Science from North Carolina State University, and his Ph.D. (2002) in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego.
