The School of Advanced Technologies welcomes Dr. Pisut Koomsap, Assistant Professor to the Design and Manufacturing Engineering Field of Study in the August 2003 term.

Dr. Pisut (left) obtained his B.Eng. (IE) from Thammasat University in 1994; M.Sc.
(IE) from University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA in 1996; and Ph.D. (IME)
from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, USA in 2001.

His area of research interests include Sensing and Control for Manufacturing
Processes and Systems; Laser Applications; Automation & Robotics;
Reliability; Continuous Improvement; Rapid Prototyping.

Prof. Worsak, Dean SCE Appointed as Member of NEIAC Infrastructure Projects

The National Environment Board of Thailand, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Suwit Khunkitti has appointed Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai (right), Dean of School of Civil Engineering (SCE), AIT, as one of the five expert individual members of the National Environmental Impact Assessment Committee (NEIAC) on Infrastructure Projects, effective on July 3, 2003.

The role of the Committee, composed mostly of representatives from related Government Authorities, is to provide expert opinions, and to approve the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports that are required by laws for all public as well as private infrastructure projects in Thailand.

The Government of Japan through the Japanese Equipment Grant (JEG), recently donated approximately THB 2 million to support the installation of LCD projectors and accessories in nine classrooms.

Kwei Lin (right) recently have been selected to receive an Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES) Honorable Mention Paper Award given in recognition of authorship of a contribution to aquacultural engineering literature of exceptional merit.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Binh, a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Engineering in Water Engineering and Management Program, School of Civil Engineering, will have his final examination on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, 10:00 a.m. in room WR209 (WEM Meeting Room).

His dissertation is entitled 'Modeling of Water Flow and Solute Transport Through the Unsaturated Zone Using Dual-Porosity Approach.
