SERD Masteral Students Receive Award

SERD's August 2002 graduates, Mr. Ekbodin Winjitkul (left) and Mr. Nabin Upadhyay (below right), won the best paper awards from the International Air & Waste Management Association - West Coast Section (AWMA-WCS), California, USA. The awarded papers were written from their Master's thesis research and presented to The West Coast Section of the Air and Waste Management Association student paper competition.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Binh, a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Engineering in Water Engineering and Management Program, School of Civil Engineering will have his final examination on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, 10:00 a.m. in room WR209 (WEM Meeting Room).

His dissertation is entitled 'Modeling of Water Flow and Solute Transport Through the Unsaturated Zone Using Dual-Porosity Approach.

Signing of the NORAD-AIT Agreement: 2003-2005

An agreement between the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) was signed on May 14, 2003. Under this agreement, the Government of Norway will provide support in an amount of not exceeding NOK 15,000,000 to AIT during 2003-2005. The objective is to 'strengthen the capability of institutions in the developing countries in Asia to address issues related to poverty alleviation, environmentally sustainable natural resources management and gender responsive development through higher education and training of relevant personnel.
