SCE/AIT Team Wins the First Place in the 3rd High Strength Concrete Contest

On August 23 - September 20, 2002, the Siam Cement Industry Co., Ltd. together with King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Thonburi (KMITT) organized the 3rd High Strength Concrete Contest called the 'Elephant Power Concrete', which was held at KMITT. The contest aimed at promoting and developing high strength concrete technologies in construction as well as enhancing students' skills for their future professional activities.

E-SEMINAR ON 'E-LEARNING OF IT ECONOMICS'
AIT's Distributed Education Center (DEC), on September 27, 2002, organized an E-seminar on 'E-learning of IT Economics' broadcasted from the University of Maryland, U.S.A.

The seminar, hosted by AIT, was attended by speakers from different countries-- Thailand, Japan and U.S.A., and was delivered from Maryland SOI Studio through the high-speed Internet2 with Ipv6 technology to Japan with digital video quality communication.

Doctoral Scholarships for Vietnamese Students

The Ministry of Eduction and Training (MOET) of Vietnam is offering a number of scholarships to AIT Vietnamese students who are interested in continuing their doctoral studies. Signing of a Cooperation Agreement to Implement 'Self Learning Program LIFE CYCLE BASED PLANT MANAGEMENT' project for web-based learning between Germany and Southeast Asia

On October 10, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V. (CDG), Fraunhofer Institute Factory Operation and Automation (IFF), Department Logistics Systems Planning and Operation (LP), Germany, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU), Thailand, the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and the Thai-German Institute (TGI) to launch a project entitled 'Self Learning Program LIFE CYCLE BASED PLANT MANAGEMENT' or LCPM Project.
