Proposals Welcomed for the New Restaurant at Golf Course Hole No. 3
The Administration is considering refurbishing Golf Course Hole No. 3 with a view to opening it as an additional restaurant.
Interested members of the AIT Community are invited to submit a
proposal, detailing the kind of food to be served (draft menu), opening
hours, type of ambience/refurbishment preferred etc.
Swimming Pool Closes on Thursdays (3:00 – 4:30 p.m.) slots only
The AIT Community School has reserved the swimming pool for swimming lessons of its pupils every Thursday, from 03.00 p.m. to 04.30 p.m. beginning October 10 until November 28, 2002 . During these times, the swimming pool is closed to other members of the AIT Community.

Minister of Transport, Mr. Suriya Jungrungroengkit, and Japan Cabinet Deputy Minister, Mr. Kenzou Yoneda will jointly preside over the opening of the INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON 'NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR URBAN SAFETY OF MEGA CITIES IN ASIA' on October 28, 2002 at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Bangkok.
A Kids Party through Internet
On October 11, 2002, the Distributed Education Center (DEC) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) hosted a one-hour Kids Party through Internet for students from Minami-Kanon Elementary School in Hiroshima, Japan, and a group of fifty students and teachers from Prachniwet School in Bangkok, Thailand.
Pichai Brings Home Outstanding Technologist Awards 2002
Associate Professor Pichai Nimityonskul was selected to receive the 'Outstanding Technologist Award 2002' given by the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology under the Patronage of His Majesty the King.

AIT Community School celebrated the UN Day
To celebrate the 57th anniversary of the United Nations, AIT Community School on October 24 hosted the United Nations Day Program with various performances from its students at Korea House.
The United Nations officially came into existence on October 24, 1945. United Nations Day is celebrated on October 24 each year.
Doctoral Thesis Presentation
Mr. Gemunu S. Gurusinghe (EVD997075), a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Technical Science in the field of Transportation Engineering, Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering Program, School of Civil Engineering, will have his final examination on Tuesday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Room N260-A (TIE Meeting Room).
His dissertation is entitled 'Development of Microscopic Car-Following Model with a New Concept'
