EC-ASEAN COGEN Programme Phase III (COGEN 3)
COGEN 3 aims at accelerating the implementation of proven, clean and efficient cogeneration projects using biomass, coal or gas as fuel. The projects will be implemented through partnerships between ASEAN industrial companies and European equipment suppliers.

SERD PhD student receives Best Paper Award
AIT alumnus Dr. S.M. Mahfuzur Rahman recently received the Best Paper Award 2002 for his work during his PhD studies at SERD, AIT.
Dr. Rahman's paper entitled 'Effect of Endogenous and Commercial Enzymes on Improving Extraction of Sweet Potato Starch' was adjudged the best paper at the Annual Paper Meet, Agricultural Engineering Division of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) held last month.
The Protocol Party for the State Visit to Thailand of His Majesty the King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden recently visited AIT and to view the soon-to-be-launched Volvo-sponsored Thailand Accident Center.

SCE Welcomes Prof. C.B. K. Rao
The School of Civil Engineering is very pleased to welcome Prof. Chittem Butchi Kameswara Rao, currently a Professor of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (India). Prof. Rao was appointed Visiting Professor at the Structural Engineering and Construction Program for a period of three (3) months from January 5 to April 30, 2003. He is seconded to AIT by the Government of India.
