AIT PS/CC holds FUN & FOOD FAIR

Teachers, parents and children of the AIT PlaySchool/Child Centre will hold a FUN & FOOD FAIR on Wednesday, 3 April, from 9:00 am to 12:30 noontime. Children wearing their own national costumes will parade first at the AIT campus and then the fun continues with different games where door prizes will be awarded to winning participants.

REMC Organizes a Study Tour on 27 March

The Regional Environmental Management Center (REMC), an outreach arm of the
Water Engineering and Management Program, School of Civil
Engineering is organizing a study tour program on Wednesday, 27 March.

The nine-day study tour -- involving government officials of the Ministry of
Agriculture of Bhutan -- will focus on small-scale surface irrigation systems,
sprinkler and drip irrigation systems and conservation activities in projects in
the Northern, Eastern and Central parts of Thailand.

Forty-four participants representing various institutions and businesses in the Greater Mekong Subregion successfully completed their training in QUALITY FUNCTION DEPLOYMENT (QFD) at a recently concluded workshop that examined in depth the importance of QFD in translating customer requirements into functional and quality characteristics.

AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, and Prof. Jean-Pierre Helfer, Director for International Affairs and Prof. Vicent Giard, Director of the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Pantheon-Sorbonne (Paris I), recently signed an agreement between AIT and the Institute of Business Administration of UP-S (Paris I) to establish the cooperation between AIT and University of Panteon-Sorbonne (Paris I) to respond the needs of multi-regional approach in the field of higher education as well as the specific needs of developing countries in Asia.

Discussions took place around drafting a general MOU that will take into account the following key areas: senior management training programs, joint research, upgrading PIM's IT capacity, teaching/joint research opportunities, PIM students' study visits to AIT and an MBA research supervision.

On 27 February, Prof. Ido Perlman, Dean of Graduate School, and Prof. Zvi Kohavi, Director of the Technion Research and Development Institute, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, came to AIT to explore possible collaboration between both Institutes on MBA program and discuss on grants, technology transfer and faculty collaboration.
