UNESCO support to inaugural GMSARN meeting

UNESCO Support to Inaugural GMSARN Meeting

An activity-financing contract agreement was signed on 8 November between
AIT and the UNESCO Regional Offices for Science and Technology for South-East
Asia, Jakarta Office, enabling the UNESCO Jakarta Office to provide financial
support for the organization of the inaugural meeting of the Greater
Mekong Subregion Academic and Research Network (GMSARN). The GMSARN
meeting will be held at AIT on 26 January 2000.

At the Agreement Signing Ceremony, photo shows Dr. Yasuyuki Aoshima, Senior Programme Specialist
of the Science, Technology and Informatics, UNESCO Jakarta Office, with AIT President, Prof.

French Final Test (Updated: 14 Nov 2000)

French Final Test

The Final Test in French language (Level One or Beginner) for September term will be conducted on Monday, 20 November and Tuesday, 21 November in CLET.

If you have some knowledge of French but did not attend AIT French class,
you still can register for the test and get a CLET/AIT Certificate in
French Language if you pass.

Under the theme, 'Sustainable Water Resources Management: Issues and Future Challenges,' the Asia and Pacific Division (APD) of the International Association for Hydraulic Engineering and Research (IAHR), and AIT's Water Engineering and Management Program/School of Civil Engineering have jointly organized the 12th APD-IAHR Congress.

Two experts from the Institute for Fisheries Management and Coastal Community Development, Denmark, will conduct a course on 'Coastal Fisheries Resources and Management' for AARM and ITCZM students, from 8 to 11 November 2000.

Dr. Poul Degnbol is the Director of the Institute and has a degree in Environmental Biology, University of Copenhagen.
