SERD Research Bazaar 2000
The School of Environment, Resources and Development organized the SERD Research Bazaar 2000 on August 16-18, featuring thesis research of SERD graduating students and research activities of selected business corporations in the areas of environmental protection, poverty alleviation, food safety and security.
How to Start and Manage your Business
I have pleasure in announcing to the AIT community that, as part of the ongoing reform process, a workshop will be organized to familiarize AIT employees with the intricacies of running a small business, as earlier announced in the AIT Gazette, Issue #9 dated 8 August 2000.
A series of eight lectures will be delivered by SOM Faculty, led by Dr. Lalit M. Johri, with simultaneous Thai translation by Ms. Uthairat Muangsan, beginning Monday, 11 Sept at 2:15 p.m. in the RCC Auditorium.

AIT to confer Honorary Degree on ADB President
Tadao Chino
MR. TADAO CHINO, President of the Asian Development Bank, will be conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Technology at the 89th graduation ceremony of the ASIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY on 18 AUGUST 2000, in recognition of his role in the economic and social development of the Asia-Pacific region and his strategic vision in leading the ADB in the fight against poverty.

Thai Prime Minister presents Dean Chongrak the 2000 Research Publication Award
H.E. Mr. Chuan Leekpai, the Thai Prime Minister, presented the 2000 Research Publication Award (Engineering) to Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), at a ceremony held at the Government House on 9 August.
