CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. ANIL KUMAR MEHROTRA
AIT alumnus Dr. Anil Kumar Mehrotra (EE '75) was honored by the Association
of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA)
in Canada with its 'Excellence in Education' award. Dr. Mehrotra
is with the faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, University of
Calgary.

Prof. Jean-Louis Armand, AIT President, is photographed with AIT alumnus
Dr. Ricardo P. Pama (SEC '64), President of Baguio Colleges Foundation
and former AIT Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Pama and a group
of BCF faculty members visited the campus last week (16 May) and toured
its academic facilities.

Officials from Hue University, Vietnam, led by Prof. Dr. Nguyen
Vien Tho, President, visited the Institute on May 3. He was
accompanied by Prof. Dr. Vo Duy Dan, Vice President; Prof. Dr.
Le Van Thuyet, Head of the Department of Scientific Exchange and Foreign
Affairs; Dr. Nguyen Hoang, Head of the Department of Mathematics,
Faculty of Education; and Dr. Nguyen Van Sanh, Professor of Mathematics,
Khon Kaen University, Thailand.

The AITAA Research Grant is supplemental to available funds at AIT to enable
students to carry out research in their home countries on problems of national
importance. Applications for the AITAA Research Grant are now
being accepted.

With deepest sorrow, we share with the AIT Community the sad news about the death of Dr. Kiyoshi Honda's mother, last Sunday in Japan. Dr. Honda is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Space Technology Applications and Research (STAR) Program, School of Advanced Technologies.
