The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has bagged eight top scores in the 2016 U-Multirank, and continues to shine in its “International Orientation”. The 2016 U-Multirank results announced in April 2016, have AIT scoring five A’s in “International Orientation,” two in “Knowledge Transfer,” and one in the category of “Research.”

Theun-Hinboun Power Company (THPC) has granted a scholarship to a student from Lao PDR to pursue a Master’s degree program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

A new AIT Institute-Level Advisory Board (ILAB) has been constituted to advise the Institute on strategic and policy related issues, including academic activities, developing linkages with the corporate sector, strengthening partnerships, developing synergy with alumni, and enforcing gender-related goals in research and academic activities at AIT.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Khairun University (Unkhair), Indonesia, to foster collaboration in the field of education, technology, research and management. The agreement also seeks to strengthen capacity building and contribute towards sustainable development of the region.

Dr. Thammarat Koottatep and Dr. Kunnawee Kanitpong have been selected for the “AIT Distinguished Researcher Awards 2015” in the categories of Senior Research Leader and Junior Research Leader respectively. Both awardees will receive a full doctoral scholarship for one student each, and they will be presented with a certificate of recognition at the May 2016 AIT Graduation Ceremony.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed a tripartite agreement with Diponegoro University (UNDIP), and the Agency for Human Resources Development (AHRD), Ministry of Public Works and Housings(PUPR), The Republic of Indonesia, for offering a Joint Master’s Education Program.

Thirty-four organizations, including 10 first time participants, joined the Career Fair organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 30 March 2016. The biannual event, which provides an opportunity to students and companies to interact with each other, also saw five organizations holding campus interviews for recruiting AIT students.

Emeritus Professor Ram M. Shrestha has brought out two premier publications under the banner of the Regional Energy Resources Information Center (RERIC) of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Titled “Climate Policy and Energy Development in Thailand: An Assessment,” and “Power Sector Development with Carbon and Energy Taxes: An Assessment in Six Asian Countries,” these two publications contain significant policy recommendations that have a bearing on both climate and energy sectors in the region.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) students have won the annual debate organized on the occasion of the International Day of Forests for the third successive year. The three-member team of Mr. Vasan Narang, Ms Ngoc Han and Ms. Sobia Asghar defeated their rival Kasetsart University at the competition held on 21 March 2016.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been ranked among the best universities in the world in three disciplines, according to the QS Top Universities 2016 Rankings by subject released on 21 March 2016. Further, AIT’s faculty has also been ranked 240 in the field of Engineering and Technology.
