A record 40 companies participated in the Career Fair organized by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) held on 5 November 2014. Participants included 15 companies who were participating for the first time in the biannual AIT Career Fair.

General Director of Thailand’s Military Research and Development Centre (MRDC), Rear Admiral Sahapong Kreupetch, has termed the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) as a “dream institute,” while seeking to tap into AIT’s educational and research capabilities. Visiting AIT on 4 November 2014, Rear Admiral Sahapong recalled how he had spent four months at AIT during his student days.

AIT President Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai’s recent invitation to all ex-faculty members of AIT to re-engage the institute as ‘Distinguished Adjunct Faculty’ has been extremely well received, based on the high volume of positive replies received from around the world.

An alumnus of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dr. Kittichai Trairatanasiricha, has been reappointed the president of Khon Kaen University. The selection was formalized at the meeting of the Khon Kaen University Council held on 2 November 2014.

AIT’s Vehicle Watch System (V-Watch), a project developed by a team of researchers from Computer Science and Information Management and Industrial System and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, recently received a prize at Thailand’s 9th IT Princess Awards Competition in the category of Embedded Applications & Tools.

Israel’s Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Simon Roded has stressed the need for greater innovation in universities. In his maiden visit to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 28 October 2014, the Ambassador invited senior AIT management to visit Israel, and obtain a first-hand experience of innovation in academic institutions.

The AIT School of Management (SOM) is a close runner-up to Chulalongkorn University’s Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration as the best business school in Thailand, according to the 2014 ranking of the world’s top 1000 business schools by Paris-based Eduniversal.

AIT students on October 29 pitched their social business plans to a panel of expert judges at the final event of the Yunus and Youth Social Business Design Contest 2014 (YY Contest) for Thailand organized by the Yunus Center AIT.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has been invited to participate in the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week to be held in July 2015 in Guizhou province, People’s Republic of China.
