Selected Thai and Non Thai Awardees for H.M. Queen Scholarship (Master Degree Program)for August 2014 intake : School of Environment, Resources and development (SERD)

Twenty-nine ministry and government officials, logistics experts, supply chain managers and academicians from Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI) were exposed to advanced supply chain management practices in Thailand during a four-day long training program on “Strategic Supply Chain Management” organized at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) from 28 May – 1 June 2014.

A delegation of Singapore-based Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Asia (Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa) headed by its CEO, Ms. Mandy Mok delivered a presentation at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 9 June 2014 and complimented the Institute on its internationality. Accompanied by Mr. Ashwin Fernandes, Head of Client Relations, QS Asia, Singapore Office, Ms. Mok stated that QS reviews almost 3000 universities every year out of which 800 are ranked, placing them in the top five per cent of all higher education institutes worldwide.

Pakistan Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Dr. Sohail Khan guided a senior level delegation from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) on its maiden visit to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 3 June 2014 for exploratory talks on broad-based collaboration, including academic accreditation.

From self-driving cars to self-driving underwater robots was the journey traversed at a lecture on underwater robotics delivered by Dr. Song K Choi, Assistant Dean, College of Engineering, University of Hawai’i at Mānoa at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) on 2 June 2014.

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) hosts 6th RIMES Council Meeting

A delegation of the European Union held an informal interaction with students, staff and AIT faculty associated with EU’s Erasmus Mundus programs. Organized immediately after the 121st AIT Graduation Ceremony on 23 May 2014, senior EU officials sought feedback on their flagship educational program.

Continuing with the tradition of bagging honors, a student of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Dong Nguyen has been awarded the Best Student Paper award by the West Coast Section of the Air and Water Management Association (AWMA) for its annual AWMA 2014 Conference. AIT students have consistently won this award, and Dong is eighth in line of his worthy predecessors.

An alumnus of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Mr. Chandrashekhar Kakal, has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Infotech. L&T Infotech is a subsidiary of L&T Limited, a USD 14 billion conglomerate.
