  • 1972 Environmental & Chemical Engineering, Fluid & Energy Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering; Structural Engineering & Mechanics and Systems Engineering & Management are established as new divisions.
  • 1973 His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand graciously presides over the opening of the new campus in Pathumthani province
  • 1974 The AIT Conference Center, a gift from the Government of Japan is inaugurated.
  • 1975 At the 18th graduation ceremony, the Institute confers its first Honorary Degree, the degree of Doctor of Engineering, on His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand
  • 1975 The Regional Experimental Center opens
  • 1976 The Regional Computer Center is opened
  • 1977 The Regional Documentation Center is established
  • 1978 Computer Applications and Energy Technology divisions are established
  • 1979 The Institute celebrated its Twentieth Anniversary. Student enrolment had increased to 485 students.
  • 1980 The Continuing Education Center is opened.
