This course aims to introduce to the students (i) how the agricultural sector changes over time, interacting with policies in both the farm and nonfarm sectors, (ii) the role of agriculture and the important development indicators for agricultural development planning, (iii) sustainable agriculture practices for long-term sustainability and environmental quality, and (iv) the role of science, technology and society in agriculture development and social innovation. This course explores the ways in which knowledge and innovation impact development and social change. It offers students to analyze multi-faceted dimensions of innovation and sustainability and their linkages to apply into best practices for societal needs.
