The objective of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills on urban sustainability issues and design within the context of sustainable development. It is designed to deliver the understanding on the term of sustainability and the role of design process from the microscale to macroscale level in different sectors.Theoretical learning is supported by applications and practices to find the solutions to thereal-world issues. Therefore, the course covers not only the sustainability design but also the community based and communication which is very important aspect these days to lead the inclusiveness of the citizens in the city planning and design.This also provides the knowledge to engage a building design process using envelope design, energy use and production and indoor environmental quality to inform design choices.
